About Us

History

Custom Interconnects has been a vital player in the interconnects industry since the 1990s.  It was in 1995 that the operations were spun-off from Tecknit® EMI Shielding into a separate company to further leverage the great successes of Fuzz Button® technology in the market.  This company was originally coined Tecknit® Interconnection Products, but was renamed in 2006 to Custom Interconnects to coincide with the acquisition of Tecknit® EMI Shielding by Parker Hannefin. Today, Custom Interconnects is an independent, women-owned small business located near the Denver Tech Center in beautiful Centennial, Colorado offering second-to-none quality, technology and stability. And all of our products are MADE IN USA.

Markets

We serve a multitude of diverse market spaces - including Military, Aerospace, RF, Semiconductor, High Speed Communications, Medical, Biomechanical, Automotive, Optoelectronics and Test/Measurement. We even sell Fuzz Buttons® to other interconnect and connector manufacturers who incorporate them into products they in turn sell to their customers.

Applications/Programs

Due to the confidential nature of the work our customers perform, we are limited in providing specifics as to actual field applications of Fuzz Button technology.  Because we offer products that perform reliably in notably harsh environments, including high shock/vibration and temperature extremes, we can say that you are likely to find Fuzz Buttons in programs such as these:

Although our primary customer base is composed of Military, Homeland Security and National Defense companies - such as L3 Harris, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, BAE, Ball Aerospace and NASA - you will also find us working with many commercial hi-tech clients as well.

Quality

Custom Interconnects has been supplying high quality products built to stringent specifications for over two decades.  Our proprietary quality processes meet or exceed industry quality standards such as ISO 9000/9001, ANSI and AS9100.  And because we perform 100% inspection on all products and their component piece parts, our return rate remains the lowest in the industry.  All products and their components are manufactured solely within the boundaries of the United Sates.  As such, we are fully compliant with international import/export and trade restrictions/requirements as defined by DFARS, ITAR, and the Arms Export Control Act.

Custom Interconnects is also RoHS compliant to the most current standard, plus our products and processes are all Lead-Free, as well as compliant to IPC 1752-A.

Custom vs COTS

We acknowledge the importance of COTS in the market, sometimes cost does rule over all other considerations.  Our model is to provide interconnect solutions that fit your design and application instead of making you adapt to ours  And because we have a large and varied solution library to draw upon, our design timeline is quite abbreviated and costs are well contained.

While Fuzz Buttons® and a custom approach may not be a fit for all possible applications, those that require advanced operating conditions such as high signal frequency, harsh environments and/or small spaces are the perfect fit.
